Top Fuel Dragster

10,000 horsepower propels the world’s fastest, loudest racing cars to more than 300mph in under 4 seconds over a standing-start 1000 feet competition distance. Burning nitromethane in supercharged V8 engines, when a pair of these cars leaving the start-line seismologists have measured them at 3.2 on the Richter scale. The acceleration from 0-100 miles per hour (160 km/h) goes as fast as 0.8-0.9 seconds. The driver or “pilot” of a top fuel dragster is subject to an average force of approximately 4G during a full power run.
