Liam Jones raced to the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the NitrOlympX, round four of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at the Hockenheimring, Germany. In Top Methanol home favourite Timo Habermann is the leader after day one, while Michael Gullqvist was quickest in Pro Modified. FIA European Drag Racing Championship part two kicks off in high gear with Hockenheim and Tierp

The 2018 FIA European Drag Racing Championship is at the halfway point of the season and after the summer break part two kicks off in high gear with in back-to-back weekends the NitrOlympX at Hockenheim in Germany and the Summit Racing Equipment Internationals at Tierp Arena in Sweden. For the drivers and teams not only a tight schedule, but in seven days the standings in the FIA European Championship can change dramatically. Anita Mäkelä (Top Fuel), Timo Habermann (Top Methanol), Stefan Ernryd (Pro Stock) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Modified) are the leaders in their respective categories, but as past performance is no guarantee of future success, everything is still possible before Europe’s most prestigious drag racing championship heads to its grand finale early September at Santa Pod. The final goodbye to Moottoriurheilukeskus Alastaro

The 2018 FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro was a historic one and not only because it was the last FIA European Drag Racing Championship race at this special place. With Jimmy Ålund winning Pro Modified and Pro Stock, it was also the first time in the history of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship that a driver won two categories in one event. Timo Lehtimäki upset the favourites in Top Fuel to take the win, while Timo Habermann extended the 2018 winning Habermann streak with a victory in Top Methanol. All qualifying and eliminations results were published on the Dragracingeurope.eu and FHRA websites during the event. Jimmy Ålund doubles up with a win in Pro Modified and Pro Stock at Alastaro

Jimmy Ålund made history at Alastaro by becoming the first driver in the FIA European Drag Racing Championship to win in two categories in one race. In Pro Modified Ålund defeated reigning champion Michael Gullqvist in the final and in Pro Stock the Swede was too quick for reigning champion Bengt Ljungdahl. In Top Fuel Timo Lehtimäki gave the Finnish home crowd something to cheer about by beating reigning champion Duncan Micallef, while in Top Methanol Timo Habermann won his second race of the season. Liam Jones raced to the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the FHRA Nitro Nationals, round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Alastaro, Finland. In Top Methanol Jonny Lagg is the leader after day one, while Michael Gullqvist stormed to a great 5.93 seconds to take the lead in Pro Modified. In Pro Stock reigning champion Bengt Ljungdahl claimed the provisional number one qualifying position.

Alastaro is ready for round three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship

After two excellent races at Santa Pod Raceway and Tierp Arena, it’s already time for race number three of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, the FHRA Nitro Nationals at Alastaro. Anita Mäkelä, Timo Habermann, Stefan Ernryd and Jimmy Ålund are the leaders in their respective categories, but their pursuers are not far behind. The competition at Alastaro will certainly be as close as it was in the first two rounds of the championship. The 2018 Tierp Internationals on track and from the pits

Less than two weeks after the season kick off in England, the FIA European Drag Racing Championship was back on track at the state-of-the-art Tierp Arena for round two, the Tierp Internationals. And once again the Tierp race had everything that makes drag racing so interesting; large numbers of entrants in all classes, record bump spots, exciting races, great elapsed times, holeshot wins and surprise winners. All qualifying and eliminations results were published on the Dragracingeurope.eu website during the event, and all details can always be reviewed in the excellent live coverage on Eurodragster.com. Anita Mäkelä, Dennis Habermann, Andreas Arthursson and Michael Malmgren winners at Tierp Internationals in Sweden

Anita Mäkelä from Finland raced to victory in the Top Fuel final of the Tierp Internationals, round two of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Tierp Arena, Sweden. In Top Methanol Dennis Habermann defeated his brother and reigning champion Timo Habermann to take the win. In Pro Modified Andreas Arthursson surprised with a win and his first FIA trophy, while in Pro Stock Michael Malmgren made an end to a long winless period by defeating Stefan Ernryd in the final.
