2019 season is done – time for Award presentation Banquet
The 2019 dragracing season is over and winners and runner-ups are selected! Now is the time to highlight everyone who made this summer filled with happenings, fast and spectacular runs among this dragracing family we all are members in. So, don´t miss out to register to the 2019 Banquet the 23rd of November at Aronsborg in Bålsta Sweden. It´s going ot be fun!
Anita Mäkelä, Jan Ericsson, Sandro Bellio and Jimmy Ålund clinch the 2019 FIA European Drag Racing Championship titles at Santa Pod
Anita Mäkelä (Top Fuel), Sandro Bellio (Top Methanol), Jan Ericsson (Pro Modified) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) claimed the 2019 FIA European Drag Racing Championship titles in their respective category at the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. Mäkelä and Ericsson won their titles in style by claiming the victory in the final round of the 2019 FIA European Drag Racing Championship as well. Bellio and Ålund also advanced to the final, but in Top Methanol and Pro Stock the win was claimed by Monty Bugeja and Robin Norén respectively. Continue reading
Maja Udtian, Sandro Bellio and Jimmy Ålund number one qualifiers at European Finals
Maja Udtian (Top Fuel), Sandro Bellio (Top Methanol) and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Modified and Pro Stock) claimed the number one qualifying positions at the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway in England and will lead their respective categories into Sunday’s eliminations at the sixth and final round of the 2019 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. With her 3.806 seconds Udtian also reset her own European Top Fuel elapsed time record from two weeks ago at Tierp. Continue reading
Anita Mäkelä, Jan Ericsson, Sandro Bellio and Jimmy Ålund leaders after the first day of qualifying for the European Finals
Anita Mäkelä raced to the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Fuel at the first day of qualifying for the European Finals, the sixth and final round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway in England. In Top Methanol Sandro Bellio is the leader after day one, while Jan Ericsson stormed to a great 5.823 seconds to take the lead in Pro Modified. Santa Pod Raceway welcomes the FIA European Championship grand finale
The FIA European Drag Racing Championship reaches its climax with the European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway, the traditional grand finale of the season. In three categories the championship still has to be decided and especially in Pro Modified, where the numbers one and two, Michael Gullqvist and Jan Ericsson, are separated by only four points, the title fight may last until the final run of the season. In Top Fuel Anita Mäkelä is the favourite to retain her title, while in Top Methanol Sandro Bellio might become the first Belgian driver to win an FIA European title in drag racing. In Pro Stock Jimmy Ålund claimed the title in the penultimate race of the season at Tierp Arena, but in this category the fight for the second position is still open. All in all great prospects for a spectacular grand finale. Continue reading
