Sverre Dahl, Tommy Grimes, Thomas Olsen and Robert Nilsson leaders after Friday qualifying at Gardermoen

Sverre Dahl was the star of the first day of qualifying for the Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, Norway. The Norwegian rider stormed to a stunning 5.98 seconds elapsed time to take the lead in Top Fuel Motorcycle. Tommy Grimes raced to the number one qualifying position in Super Twin Motorcycle at round three of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Thomas Lysebraaten Olsen claimed the number one qualifying position, while in Super Street Bike Robert Nilsson is the leader at Gardermoen Raceway after three qualifying runs.

After a rainy night, the weather conditions at Gardermoen Raceway were almost perfect. Sunny, great temperatures and hardly any wind at the first day of qualifying for the Drag Challenge, round three of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship.

Sverre Dahl made the day in the EDRS Pro Nordic MC as the rider from Norway stormed to a stunning 5.98 seconds to take the lead in Top Fuel Motorcycle.

Rikard Gustafsson was not far behind with 6.06 seconds, while Jan Sturla Hegre was third after three runs in the quickest motorcycle category of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship.

In Super Twin Motorcycle Tommy Grimes raced to the number one qualifying position with a great 6.60 seconds.

Roman Sixta was the only other Super Twin rider to break the 7-second barrier with 6,977 seconds. Greger Johansson is third after three runs with 7.04 seconds and Svein Olav Rolfstad fourth with 7.28 seconds.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle home favourite and winner of the first two races, Thomas Lysebraaten Olsen claimed the number one qualifying position with 7.52 seconds, with Timo Savolainen from Finland in second position with 7.84 seconds.

In Super Street Bike Robert Nilsson surprised championship leader Mogens Lund to claim the number one qualifying position with 7.23 seconds.

Lund is not far behind with 7.29 seconds while Anders Blanck recorded the third elapsed time with 7.35 seconds. Vesa Ruhanen from Finland is the provisional number four.

In Super Comp Bike Emil Östlund recorded the almost perfect 8.5-second index time with 8.51 seconds. Rasmus Östlund in the number two qualifier with Bianca Nilsson in third position.

In Super Gas Bike Kent Koed is the leader with Kari Rautanen in second position and Iiro Reinola third.

Qualifying for the Drag Challenge continues Saturday, July 29.
