Ellsa Karlsson

In an all female Pro Stock Motorcycle final 17-year old Ellsa Karlsson was the surprising winner at Gardermoen today when she defeated her 19-year old sister Elvira. It was Ellsa’s first win in the class. In Super Twin Motorcycle Samu Kemppainen won his second consecutive race of the 2015 EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship, while in Super Street Bike Nils-Ola Andersson took his first win of the season. Jan Sturla Hegre was the winner in Top Fuel Motorcycle at the Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, the third round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship.

Due to safety reasons the race director decided to run the Pro Stock Motorcycle eliminations over the 1/8 mile. Like at Alastaro all three Karlssons, Robert and daughters Elvira and Ellsa advanced to the semi-finals. But this time it was Ellsa who defeated her father to go straight into the final. In the other semi-final Elvira, the number one qualifier, was to fast for reigning EDRS champion Kalle Lyrén.

Thus an all female final between 17-year old Ellsa and her 19-year old sister Elvira. In a great side-by-side run Ellsa took the win, the first victory in her still young Pro Stock Motorcycle career.

Samu Kemppainen

After his victory in Finland, Samu Kemppainen was unstoppable at Gardermoen too and won his second consecutive EDRS Pro Nordic MC Super Twin Motorcycle race. After defeating Anders Hörnström in the first round, the reigning FIM European champion was too fast for reigning EDRS champion Hans Olav Olstad in the semi-final.

In the final Kemppainen had to face Trond Høiberget and proved again he will be hard to beat this season. Høiberget surprised the crowd by defeating Per Bengtsson in the first round when the number one qualifier suffered mechanical problems. But in the final it was Kemppainen again who was too fast, also for Norwegian home favourite Høiberget.

Nils-Ola Andersson

Major upsets in the Super Street Bike eliminations. Alastaro winner and number two qualifier Dag Wagenius had mechanical problems in the first round and was eliminated, while number one qualifier Björn Friström was defeated by Nils-Ola Andersson in the semi-final. In the other semi-final Svein Ove Braendhagen had a bye run after the Norwegian rider was to fast for Robert Häggblom in the quarter final.

But in the final the local hero couldn’t match the 7.59 seconds of Andersson and so the Swede won his first EDRS Pro Nordic MC race of the season.
