Jan Sturla Hegre, Samu Kemppainen, Elvira Karlsson and Björn Friström provisional leaders after day one at Gardermoen

Jan Sturla Hegre

Jan Sturla Hegre is the leader in Top Fuel Motorcycle after the first day of qualifying for the Drag Challenge at Gardermoen Raceway, the third round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship. In Super Twin Motorcycle Samu Kemppainen is leading again, while in Pro Stock Motorcycle Elvira Karlsson is the provisional leader. In Super Street Bike reigning champion Björn Friström is number one qualifier after two runs.

After a rain delay in the morning, the weather conditions improved at Gardermoen Raceway, so both scheduled qualifying sessions for the third round of the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle Championship could be completed.

In Top Fuel Motorcycle Jan Sturla Hegre skipped the first qualifying, but his 6.54 seconds in qualifying two was good enough to take over the provisional number one position from Rikard Gustafsson. Sverre Dahl had problems in both runs and has no time yet.

Samu Kemppainen

In Super Twin Motorcycle Samu Kemppainen had problems in qualifying one, but the championship leader rebounced with a great 6,59 seconds to take the lead.

Per Bengtsson

Per Bengtsson is the provisional number two qualifier and with 6,66 seconds the only other rider in the 6 seconds so far. Reigning EDRS Pro Nordic MC champion Hans Olav Olstad is in third position (7.08 seconds).

Elvira Karlsson

In Pro Stock Motorcycle Elvira Karlsson got her revenge for the lost Alastaro final and beat her father Robert in a great side-by-side run to take the provisional number one qualifying position with 7.10 seconds. Robert Karlsson is second (7.19 seconds), Kalle Lyrén third (7.20) and Kenneth Vik fourth (7.25).

Björn Friström

In Super Street Bike reigning EDRS Pro Nordic MC champion Björn Friström is leading the field into Saturday qualifying. Friström’s 7.48 seconds was enough to beat Alastaro winner Dag Wagenius (7,65 seconds). Nils-Ola Andersson is the provisional number three qualifier.
